LOBSTER, SHRIMP AND SAUSAGE
A little known issue with lobster boils is that the cooks always have to reach over the boiler to get the lobster….. Never more! With the Smack Shack we engineered the worlds first Lobster-Go-Round! This revolutionary contraption rides the brim of the boil kettle on food-safe sealed bearings, allowing the cook to easily sort through our unlucky friends as they are cooked to perfection. We were also asked to create a signature art piece for the large space. The initial idea was to craft lobsters frozen in carbonite. After a few different trials at how we go about doing this we came up with a refined, smart, yet muted piece where white on white lobsters are framed as subtle pop art. Finally, the zinc bars seemed a natural choice as they were historically first used in oyster bars, and the design of the Smack Shack bar was inspired by the original east coast seafood scene.
